Okay gang, here's the deal:  Spam's flooding the comments section so often that i'm spend nearly three times a day deleting tons of posts from bots, instead of real fans. I know this isn't my fans fault, but after a lot of thought, i've decided to disable comments for a while.

This is nothing against you guys n' gals, but if we're honest, my infrequently replies to all the supportive comments I do get, has been painfully rare.  Guess i suck at replies, in general.  I'm probably better off sticking to my drawing table, instead of sorting through online blog comments, kind and generous as they are.

This is no rejection of  you guys - you've all been terrific.  I'll still let you know about any upcoming projects i'm working on too.

The good news is, so long as i keep posting *something* . . . every few days,

that will give you an excuse to check-in every once in a while.

And sorry in advance if anyone is bummed out by this.

My Obsession with "Sam Logos".

 I like panels that make you wonder what's happening. 

Here is a curious panel from The Hollows.

The Girl's holding a fire extinguisher, suggesting the winged man may be... 

flammable?

And the little pink figure, Urp,

seems even more confused than the girl. 

Everybody i draw . . looks goofy.

One of the things i liked about Scratch, or Eleanor, or the weird Twout boxes i keep sketching and building, is none of them look, (for lack of a better word) . . . "normal".

Their all sorta goofy looking.

Even though the Maxx is the best known thing i've done, Maxx, Sara, Julie don't exactly look normal either.   But it doesn't really bother me anymore. 

The good news is, love it or hate it -

at least i don't look just like everybody else.

But Toilet Seats are a key ingredient in what makes a Magic Box work.

( don't worry, i don't know what the heck i'm talking about either.. )

What I was trying for in Scratch

I dunno how much it shows, but Scratch was my tribute/effort to blend the brush style of Wrightson and Sienkiewicz's frenetic design sense.

Not sure if either of those came through in the end.  Despite all my efforts,

it all winds up looking like . . . "sam stuff" in the end.

but to Nola, represents her mother's critical side.

Same Archetype, but wildly different effect on these two girls.
