Same art, one with digital Blue Background,

The second has a Hand Drawn Green Background.

I was a little slow to warm up to drawing Maxx again after a few decades away.

New Maxx Cover, a couple more Pics

Something cool about the net is showing off 'process pics' of newly created art on their blog,

often minutes after the artists does it.

Very cool.

New Artwork from an Old Friend . .

James Dean Conklin is a artist, animator ( he worked on MTV's Maxx animated series) and is also a musician.  He's been awesome friend for the 20 years we've know each other.

Below is a kick-ass print he did recently,

And below that is something I drew for him a long time ago, being as we are both Dr. Strange fans.

Another 'Maxx Cover . . .

I'm also working on a new batch of Maxx covers,

only trouble is I have no interior pages to go with it.

Oh well, least it gives me a pile of unprinted Maxx covers to enjoy.

More 'Losing Isz' panels

Yeah, I know technically it's one panel.

But in a way, the tree trunks do sorta divide it into three panels, eh?

an Alpaca Christmas

Yes, I know I've posted this one before,

but it seemed a good choice for the Holidays.

Reconsidering The Hollows

My buddy Chris Ryall wrote this mini series.  It has a looser style than my usual.  Not many people read it when it first came out,

but I really enjoyed drawing it.

A few panels from "Losing Is"

Here's a few panels from a funny animal comic in the 80s's called 'Critters'.  This also appeared in the "I Before E" collection.

Finding My Own Style . .

Some feedback I got from a lot of editors when trying to break into comics was that my style looked too derivative of Bernie Wrightson.

It took several years to find my own style.

Pink Twout

I really like some of the textures in this one.

Especially the stringy stuff in the upper right corner.

Maybe I should do a Maxx piece in this style?
