Tried to do something . . .

. . a little different, texture wise with Batman's cape.  Trying to wake myself up.

Might not work, maybe s little too abstract, but figured it was worth a try.

Tiny Bonsai

Hard to tell if it's a tiny tree, because there's nothing to compare it too,

so you'll just have to trust me.

Mr. Gone & Dark Jungle Queen

Chugging away during the Holidays and upcoming New Year . . trying to wrap up the extremely late Batmaxx 5.

Wish me luck.

Girl's Face

Here's a Bimbo cover I decided not to use.

The most interesting thing about it is that unless it's photographed from the side . . .

. . you can't really see the textures I cut around the artwork.

Sort of a mixed-media experiment gone awry., but it was fun to try.

BatMaxx Issue 5

. . went a little nuts on this one.

Now to add the head.

. . . figured I'd finish this up today.

Wolvie MCP 100 again . .

You can probably tell I had more fun inking the hair on Wolvie's arm than anything else on this  page.

Batmaxx . . another page

Don't worry. even though this says 'page 3', I've got way more pages done than this already.

Looking to wrap up issue five by the end of this month, after the holidays.

Before Maxx . . .

. . I even drew characters like Ghost Rider with Big-Ass Feet.

Joker: Slightly Darker

I've posted this one before, but since this is a different & slightly darker version, I figured it was worth posting again.

Wolverine - Then & Now

I came across an old MCP 100 Wolvie page I did about 20 years ago. I was late so I sorta skimped on his beard stubble, and some of the brush work is a little too sloppy.

----

Interesting to compare that to this panel from a Wolvie 10 page story I drew just a few years back. Truth is, how I draw Wolvie now is hit and miss, nowhere near as strong or detailed as my early 'Blood Hungry' issues were.

Because, (forgetter or worse) I'm different now too.

So,  given my deteriorating skills (which all artists eventually face), I'm surprised some (not all) of my later panels aren't too shabby.

Not amazing,

but not bad for an old fart.

: )

Rarely Seen Maxx Splash

From Wizard, also known as Maxx 1/2.

This story never fit the comics chronology, so it was never collected in the Maxx trades.

Marvel Comics Presents 100 & The Fantastic Four

All I remember about MCP 100 was I worked in a panel with the Fantastic Four,

for the simple reason that I'd never drawn them before,

and adding them into this panel was my last chance.

Turns out I was right.

Ojo Cover

Slightly different version of the Ojo cover,

this one with a more 'orange-y' colored eye.

Fashion - Gold (3 of 3)

Close up of this one . . .

. . and here's the original drawing, all three of them together.

Marvel Comics Presents 100

There were only a handful of have-way decent pages from MCP 100,

so I decided to throw up a few of the bette ones.

Fashion - Green (2 of 3)

Second one of these.

Don't worry, only one more to go . .

. . . then we're back to the super hero stuff.

Fashion - Orange (1 of 3)

Here's here' s the first one - in orange.

Zero Girl - Praise for Alex Sinclair

I don't give enough credit to the terrific colorist Alex Sinclair, who colored Batman Secrets, Scratch, Four Women and  Zero Girl.

Here's a awesome example of his warm skin tones on Zero Girl which really brought her to life.

Oops, I goofed, the first issue of Zero Girl was colored by Nick Bell, who is also a terrific too. (nice save, Sam)

Her first appearance, from Darker Image # 1

Old Sandman Sketch

The Sandman's hair and his swirling cape are probably the most interesting part of this one.

Spidey & Hulk, detail

'Classic' (meaning old) Marvel cover I drew ages ago.

Albert Moy always wanted to buy this one, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.  Probably lying under a stack of pages somewhere.  It'll show up eventually.

Stuff lying around the back of my closet . .

I'm not particularly strong at drawing women,

but despite it's many flaws,

I sorta like this one.

Dunno what else I can say . . .

. . about this bit of news, which is sorta self explanatory.  I'd like to thank Channing and the producers for their willingness to exploring all this stuff as far as they have,  but things are still very much in the early stages, if it happens at all.

Meanwhile, best I can do is get back to finishing the up comic. You know, these things don't draw themselves.
